1. JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowships for Research in Japan (PD 特別研究員/外国人特別研究員)
JSPS offers several types of postdoctoral fellowships for researchers to conduct research in Japan.
• For International Fellowships: the duration is up to 2 years, and application deadlines are typically in April and August each year.

• University Recommendations for MEXT Scholarship: The Program in Engineering Mechanics and Energy offers University Recommendation MEXT Scholarship opportunities (Special Program: PBL).
Applications are usually due in August each year. The selection process is competitive, and having a publication record can be an advantage.

• Embassy Recommendations for MEXT Scholarship: The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) also provides scholarships through Embassy Recommendation.
The application procedures and deadlines vary by country or region, so please consult the Japanese Embassy or Consulate in your area for specific information.
Compared to the university recommendation track, the embassy recommendation process is usually less competitive and offers more opportunities.

• JSPS DC1 / DC2: JSPS offers scholarships for first- and second-year PhD students in Japan.
However, these scholarships are highly competitive, and applicants with a strong publication record are more likely to be selected. Details can be found

• CSC Scholarship for Chinese Students: For Chinese students, the CSC scholarship provided by Chinese Scholarship Council
(国家建設高水平大学公派研究生項目による中国政府派遣大学院生の選抜(博士後期課程)) is also a good opportunity to study oversea. The application deadline is typically in December each year.

2. For Domestic Students

3. Other opportunities for both International and Domestic Students

For master’s students, scholarship opportunities are generally limited.
However, for those who demonstrate strong academic performance and a solid publication record during study, the C2S Lab will consider providing support through a Research Assistant (RA) salary.
